Meet the Founder

Bryan McColgan is a U.S. board certified endocrinologist and internal medicine physician who completed his undergraduate and fellowship training at Stanford University and his medical school and residency at Columbia University.
As a gay man, he has been active in LGBTQ+ groups in school and professionally, and he is currently on his first journey to fatherhood through surrogacy in California with his husband.
When starting his own journey, Bryan found there was an incredible amount of negative and incorrect information online regarding IVF, surrogacy, and what it is really like to be a LGBTQ+ identified parent.
Bryan started the Gay Dad Reporter to provide objective, actionable news and information for gay intended and current parents that allow them to understand the complex and changing landscape of assisted reproduction and gay parenthood.
